Fenton Holloway were commisioned to prepare designs for the main entrance canopy to this large retail development as well as for a pedestrian walkway cover.
The main entrance canopy is indented on plan and projects from the main building. A 'flying' mast system cantilevers from tied and cable-stayed columns which support the ptfe-coated glass cloth stressed membrane mutli-bay conic canopy.
The Portland Bridge pedestrian walkway cover is a four-masted inverted conic similarly made from a ptfe-coated glass cloth fabric.
We undertook the engineering concept, analysis and detailed design for the membrane and supporting steelwork.
