MERRY HILL ATRIUM

A dramatic atrium canopy spanning between and supported by strengthened existing buildings which were braced apart using a tubular lattice steel strut. Cable supported flying masts carry the ptfe-coated glass cloth membrane roof which sweeps down to the front and is carried by a steel tripod which also acts as a rainwater hopper.
Fenton Holloway prepared concept designs resulting in our undertaking the full analysis and design of the supporting steelwork and patterning of the membrane roof. 3-dimensional modelling software was used to assist in the preparation of final working drawings.
