As part of Birminghams premier shopping and retail district, Martineau Place underwent a substantial redevelopment programme which conincided with the redevelopment of the Bullring. They required a visually stunning feature that also acted as a cover for a large pedestrianised area.
Fenton Holloway designed a series of dramatic lightweight fabric canopies and steel support structures which spanned across an entire street. The effect was a unique and high quality piece of engineering that also has a practical purpose.
