Due to the recent expansion of the oil industry off the coast of West Africa, a high quality port facility was required for the oil rig supply and service vessels that dock here. Construction of a 110m dock wall, apron slab and laydown area were required to bring the port up to standard. As the dock was on reclaimed land in a deep water port, a combipile solution was specified with piles driven down to 28m. The completed pier has 12m clear draft. [66,150]
