EMPRESS SCULPTURE
location: Empress State Building, London
This dramatic sculpture by artist and sculptor Diana Edwards was realised after complex analysis and modelling was used to replicate the artists intended form. Close collaboration between the artist, ourselves as engineer and fabricator ensured that our goal was achieved. The steel framing supporting the stressed membrane skin was detailed to enable large element off-site fabrication which resulted in simplified construction.
The sculpture creates an eye catching centre piece on the Piaza in front of the Empress State Building, London.
