WAREHOUSE FOR NISBETS, AVONMOUTH
client: John Sisk & Son Ltd for St Modwens
location: Avonmouth
The new Nisbets distribution warehouse located on a brownfield site in Avonmouth, is a steel portal-frame building covering an area 140m by 100m, rising to a height of 16m. Fenton Holloway were responsible for the overall structural design of the building including external works and drainage. Over 1500 driven precast piles were required both for the building foundations and suspended steel fibre reinforced concrete ground slab supporting heavy high bay racking.
Working closely with the Design & Build contractor (John Sisk) and the numerous sub-contractors the scheme design and construction was completed in under 8 months.
