Chatham Maritime is on the site of the former Chatham Docks, which was originally a Royal Naval Dockyard. Since their closure, the docks site has become one of the largest urban regeneration projects in Europe.
Fenton Holloway designed the dramatic and unique insulated stressed membrane roof which is supported from a 60m span steel spine truss. We were responsible for the engineering concept, analysis and detailed design of the steel framing as well as the fabric engineering aspects for the roof (analysis, design, patterning and detailing).
