ARTS INSTITUTE WORKSHOPS

The need for more space in the existing Arts Institute building was addressed by the construction of a new workshop complex. Using a steel framed structure with precast concrete floors the building was constructed to a constrained budget. The building is set back into a slope and stone filled gabions were used as the retaining element and elsewhere to form the external envelope.
