The Dovercout Development in Cheltenham Road, Bristol, is a combination of 129 one, two, and three bedroom apartments, in a number of blocks up to 6 storeys high on the site of a former garage. The existing 1960s concrete frame was demolished, but the historic "White" and "Yellow" buildings dating from the 19th century were retained and restored. The new apartments are of timber frame construction, with external steel walkways, and a feature tensile fabric canopy over the central courtyard. These are all supported from a reinforced concrete podium slab over a basement car park. Wherever possible, the pad foundations and retaining walls of the former garage have been reused.
